Google AdSense

Google Adsense has many advantages, and is probably the most popular and widely used ad networks.

Google AdSense has many advertisers, so it has a higher payout, and has more relevant ads than some smaller ad networks. It’s non-intrusive.

Advantages: Makes a fair amount of money, many different ad formats, very customizable.

Disadvantages: TOS is a bit restrictive, many people have “Google Phobia”, because Google sometimes pulls the plug on publishers without warning (but with cause).

Use Google AdSense on sites where the visitor is looking for something. Because Google pays per click on the ads, when your visitors are looking for information or something, they will be more likely to click on the Google AdSense ads in search of their information.

Google AdSense is a okay choice for sites like forums; if you have different visitors a day and recieve traffic from many different sites, AdSense will be a good idea, since the visitor is looking for something.

If you recieve the same users all the time, Google AdSense might not be the best choice for you because your visitors aren’t looking for something, and they also will start to ignore ads, a symptom called “Ad blindness”.

Hopefully, that helps you decide if you want to use Google AdSense or not! If you have any questions, make a comment! Tomorrow, I’ll blog about Yahoo Publisher Network.
