Chitika is another ad network, and is growing in popularity because of the relatively good payouts, it’s also a Pay-Per-Click ad network. It has a innovative design for the ad, a bit more distracting, but innovative. You can take a look on the homepage of their website.
Advantages: Higher payout, although decreasing right now, and it’s new layout makes people want to take a look, explore, and maybe click on the ad. They also pay via Paypal.
Disadvantages: Payout has been decreasing, audits on the ads can decrease revenue significantly, depending on the site, and they have started to remove links from the ads that did not perform well according to them. Chitika is not contextual unless you specifically request it.
Chitika used to be a good ad network, but I have dropped them because I didn’t earn as much revenue as Google, and they have removed some links from the ads that didn’t perform well, making it so you earn less.
Also, Chitika has this audit system, that takes all the data about the ads, AFTER the month is over, and processes it to take out invalid clicks. That way, your income you think you’d get is actually decreased, after the audits. Some people have not had good luck with their audits, but the audits didn’t affect me that much.
My opinion on Chitika is mixed. It used to be good, but I decided to drop it. If your site is about reviewing products or things like that, it seems that Chitika would be a good choice for ads, your users will be more likely to buy ads. If your site is more targeted to groups who don’t buy stuff online much, then it’s probably a bad choice.
