While Crusing around the KL Slashdot News forum, I found something rather interesting. It seems Michael Robertson, and apparently a team of coders, although not specified, are designing a suite of free tools to compete with Microsoft Office, and possibly others. They plan on releasing a new one each week. Using AJAX, this is done entirely through web browsers, and compatible with almost every web browser and every OS available. They are attempting to make it look and feel alot like MSWord(hopefully with a better clipart program). It kind of makes me wonder what Microsoft will do about it, because this could cost them thousands. I mean, it would save alot of people alot of money, but that isn’t what Microsoft wants. Anyway, it just shows how powerful AJAX can be. So check out our sister blog about AJAX, and you could create some pretty cool stuff for your site. Great way to add that much-needed content, eh?
